The rules for using the free site and for buying an employer monitoring service. Paid work is also confirmed in writing before it starts.

Who these terms are with

KnowYourSponsor is provided by Roshan Yadav, trading as KnowYourSponsor. Using the site means you accept the website terms below. A paid monitoring contract starts only when we both confirm its scope and price in writing.

The free website

You may search, download and reuse the published data subject to the licences attached to its original public sources. GOV.UK and Companies House remain the authorities for their own records.

I take reasonable care to keep the site accurate and available, but public sources can be late, incomplete or changed without notice. Name-based company matching can also be wrong. Check the linked official record before making an employment, immigration, financial or legal decision.

Paid monitoring

The written order confirms the employers or segment monitored, the check frequency, delivery method, price and start date. If that order conflicts with this page, the written order controls.

Unless the order says otherwise, sponsor status and rating are checked daily. Companies House bulk data is checked monthly. An alert reports a change found in those sources. It does not promise that an employer is hiring, solvent or able to sponsor a particular person.

Your responsibilities

• Provide accurate employer names and company numbers where available.
• Check official sources before acting on a report.
• Use the service lawfully and for business purposes.
• Do not send candidate names, immigration records or case notes.
• Do not resell the private history or reports unless the order allows it.

Charges, invoices and cancellation

The price and billing period are confirmed before work starts. Invoices are due within 14 days. Either side may cancel a monthly service by email. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid month. Amounts already due remain payable.

I may suspend a service while an invoice is overdue or if continuing it would be unlawful, insecure or materially harmful. I will explain why unless the law prevents that.

Confidentiality and data

Customer watchlists, instructions and private reports are treated as confidential and are not published. This does not cover information that is already public, independently developed or required to be disclosed by law. The privacy notice explains what is kept, why it is kept and when it is deleted.

Availability and changes

No service-level agreement applies unless the written order includes one. I will use reasonable care to run the agreed checks and will tell paying customers about a material interruption. A failed check will not be reported as a clean result.

Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or anything else that English law does not allow to be excluded.

Subject to that, neither side is liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost profit, revenue, business opportunity or goodwill. For a paid service, my total liability arising from that service is limited to 125% of the fees paid or payable for it in the previous 12 months. This limit applies only where it is reasonable and lawful.

Ending a service

Either side may end a service immediately if the other commits a serious breach and does not fix it within 14 days of written notice. On ending, reports already delivered remain available to the customer. Watchlist data is handled as described in the privacy notice.

Law and contact

These terms and any dispute are governed by the law of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction for a business contract.
